A psychic attack is the sending of negative energy with the conscious or unconscious intention to inflict mental or physical harm upon a person.

Psychic Attacks target the Subconscious:  The subconscious mind:

  • Controls and manages all perceptions of reality
  • Stores and organizes all memories
    • It represses memories with unresolved negative emotion and to protect itself from trauma
  • Is the domain of the emotions
    • It may keep these repressed emotions repressed for self protection
  • It runs the body
  • Maintains instincts, generates habits and uses repetition to control behavior
  • Uses and responds to symbols and images

Psychic Attacks can affect a Targets behaviors & perception of reality

The Goal of a Psychic Attack is to affect the Targets emotional, mental & psychic state and ultimately change their behavior to comply with the attackers goals.

Figure 1: Process of a Psychic Attack

PSYCHIC ATTACK PROCESS: A psychic attack can begin by controlling what information the target takes in and processes. This often skewed information is taken in through our senses and processed through a series of filters (sometimes referred to as "biases") that define how each person sees the world. These filters include our:

  • MEMORIES:  Our mind filters information through our memories. As we get older, our actions in the present are actually reactions to our past memories. Change a subjects memories, change their reality.

  • DECISIONS: Past decisions can create beliefs or may just affect our perceptions through time. These decisions can determine our internal representation (e.g. the content of our thinking or the confirmation of information which includes Pictures, Sounds, Feelings, Tastes, Smells, and Self Talk) of an event that is occurring right now. Changing a Targets belief of a decision can change their actions.

  • META-PROGRAMS: Meta Programs are patterns of thinking that control how you perceive an event. Knowing a Targets Meta Programs can help you predict their states as well as their future actions.

  • BELIEFS: Beliefs are generalizations about how people perceive the world. What people perceive to be true is what they project on to others and the world.

  • VALUES AND ATTITUDES: Values are how we decide whether our actions are good, bad, right or wrong. They are also how we decide to feel about our actions. Our Attitude is a combination of our memories and the decisions we make in life. It is how we think and feel about our beliefs, and the expression of these beliefs.

By manipulating a targets filters, it is possible to affect their emotional, mental and psychic "State". By controlling someones State, you can influence and even manipulate their behavior and actions.

Psychic Self Defense – Assessing your own Vulnerabilities

When doing magic, one of the 1st and most important steps is understanding our own vulnerabilities. We want to find these vulnerabilities before someone else does or we find them at an “inconvenient” time.

In this exercise, start thinking about your own vulnerabilities to psychic attacks & negative energies. Think about how vulnerable you feel, how can you be psychically attacked by spiritual entities or by people (intentionally or not) or just impacted by negative emotions and energy. What fears do you have about these types of attacks?

EXERCISE: Write down a list of vulnerabilities you have (or fear you may have) to various types of psychic attacks, negative energies, negative emotions or intense discomfort to certain situations/people. Include any situations in the past you had & how you think they occurred.

Our goal is to:

  1. Identify when we get triggered/attacked
  2. Understand how getting triggered/attacked affects us
  3. Understand what is the best way till prevent/protect ourselves from these events.

Questions for identifying vulnerabilities:

  1. When do you feel “triggered”, negative energy, highly negative emotions (e.g anger, fear, hate) or psychically/emotionally/mentally attacked?
  2. What type of symptoms do you feel?
    • Where do you feel these symptoms in your body?
    • What do you see?
    • What do you hear?
    • What do you smell?
    • What do you taste?
  3. Do you think physical or mental health issues may be contributing to these symptoms?
  4. What type of situations make you feel these symptoms?
  5. What type of people make you feel these symptoms?
  6. What type of locations make you feel these symptoms?
  7. What is your 3 biggest fears about psychic attacks?
  8. What do you do when you feel these symptoms?
    • How do you know if this protection worked?
    • If a specific protection doesn’t work, what do you do next?
  9. How will you know when a psychic attack against you is not working or has failed?

Deliberate Psychic attacks by individuals

Negative emotions being triggered by certain people, words, images, situations

Being Triggered by certain places

USING THIS INFORMATION: Once we identify when we get triggered/attacked, how it affects us and potential strategies for dealing with them; this information can be used to keep ourselves safe and healthy in wide variety of situations.

Protecting yourself Against Psychic Attack

  • Keep yourself as physically & mentally healthy as possible
    • Eat Healthy
    • Sleep at least 7+ hours a night
    • Substance abuse (e.g drugs & alcohol) makes you highly vulnerable to attack
  • Have healthy relationships
    • Associate with healthy & happy friends and family as much as possible.
    • Be part of an emotionally healthy and supportive community
    • Avoid destructive people and “energy vampires”
  • Meditate regularly
  • Avoid unnecessary fights when possible
    • Don't be afraid to walk away from a fight or argument (in person or online)
  • Practice Stress Inoculation: Stress Inoculation is about learning to control your information flow and managing your emotional state.
    • One technique I have seen used successfully is Stress Inoculation training. You work with training partners to simulate emotionally stressful situations and practice managing your response.
    • Go to various locations by yourself & with your training partners to gauge how successful you are. Malls are a good place to start but places with large crowds will also work.
    • In Seattle, Capital Hill & the U district are good places to practice (as long as it can be done safely)
  • Don't be afraid to seek help from a Mental Health Professional for issues you may be having.
