Generally it is expected that the following competencies will be fulfilled
during the regularly scheduled Spell Circle meetings, the level of proficiency
requisite for completion being commensurate with the level taught at a Spell
Circle meeting.
A qualifications card for each of the core competencies will be provided for new

VIII. Perisher:
Once the candidate has completed the core competencies in item VII, s/he will
sit before a board of ideally not less than three Spell initiates. The initiates
will each select at least one core competency from the above list to
demonstrate; which core competencies will be tested will not be briefed with the
candidate beforehand. As it is presumed that a basic circle casting will need to
be performed prior to the execution of many of these core competencies, the
board should presume that the candidate's "perisher" will always begin with a
demonstration of the "Basic Circle Casting" proficiency, and hence this will not
be considered an appropriate choice for the initiate's competency selection.
Thus, at a minimum, the candidate will be expected to perform a total of four
core competencies.
